Over the last 20+ years, the mission has helped rescue and recycle religious items that are no longer needed. They recycle items from clergy as well as Parishioners who need a place for their religious items. Their first effort was following Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and surrounding areas, sending recycled religious items to those churches and parishioners who lost most of everything. The items they take in are going back into churches and other religious organizations that are in need of them. Don’t throw anything out; the Mission can take in and give just about anything of religious nature such as crucifixes, statues, rosaries, candle sticks, holy medals, hold cards, prayer books, framed pictures, etc. (No reading books or large furniture items, please) In many cases, they are able to travel to your location to pick up your items and will be in our area the week of April 26th. Please consider cleaning out the closet or desk and dresser drawers for any religious item(s) you no longer need. Pat Boatman will have a drop box available in the church by the St. Anthony Statue for your donations. May your offerings bring you many blessings.
